SEARCH has decades of experience in planning and executing deep-water missions to survey, locate, and study the deep ocean’s shipwrecks. We have worked around the world with partners in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Mediterranean, Weddell, Adriatic, Aegean, and Black Seas. Our work spans towed, hull-mounted, and autonomous systems, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), and submersible dives. We have led oil-spill remediations of Coimbra and Munger T Ball, participated in the discovery of Endurance in the Antarctic, and conducted telepresence missions that located the wrecks of USS Nevada and SS Bloody Marsh. Our staff also led multidisciplinary archaeological assessments of three World War II aircraft carriers lost during the Battle of Midway.
