Anclote Missile Tracking Annex Virtual World

The Anclote Missile Tracking Annex (AMTA) Virtual World presents a version of the AMTA as it existed during the height of the Cold War, circa 1962. The AMTA consisted of 14 buildings and structures that supported America’s missile defense system during this tense historical period. The military complex was a relatively short-lived site – operations began in 1958 and ended in 1969.

SEARCH documented the structural remains of the AMTA in 2015. The dilapidated conditions of the buildings represented a safety hazard and the current landowner was forced to demolish the ruined structures. Fortunately, kind support from the landowner allowed SEARCH to undertake a thorough documentation of the property, which served as the basis for the virtual reconstruction of the site presented below.
