“The Rio Tanama Site Phase III report was the best excavation report we have ever seen, bar none.”

Archaeology

SEARCH has one of the largest teams of professional archaeologists in the nation, and we deliver the full range of traditional and highly specialized archaeological, laboratory, conservation, and curation services. We have a best-in-industry reputation for rapid response, major project logistics, and innovative services such as LiDAR-based predictive modeling, high density laser scanning, GPR, and creative alternatives to traditional mitigation. The depth of our staff, fleet, equipment, and facilities enables us to conduct multiple simultaneous projects across a wide geographic area, including remote areas that have extreme conditions.

SEARCH staff is expert in prehistoric archaeology, historic archaeology, geoarchaeology, zooarchaeology, osteology, ethnography, lithic technology, and ceramic technology as well as national and state compliance regulations. Our Principal Investigators are listed on the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA), and our staff meets or exceeds the Professional Qualifications Standards as set forth in the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for History, Archaeology, and Historic Preservation (36 CFR Part 61).
