Energy Sector

SEARCH provides the full suite of terrestrial and underwater cultural resource services to the energy industry. SEARCH’s high level of service has resulted in our firm being awarded eight major energy pipeline projects, and over 500 work orders across six states in the Southeastern and Northeastern United States. We are members of the Southern Gas Association (SGA). We have conducted multiple maritime remote sensing and ride-along surveys as well as post-hurricane pipeline inspection and marine hazard analysis surveys. SEARCH has consistently met Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) filing deadlines and our documentation (Resource Report 4) is routinely accepted by the State Historic Preservation Officers (SHPOs) without revision.
With energy, and all of our projects, we have pioneered the use of creative research alternatives to archaeological excavations that are more cost effective and allow for a wider distribution of scientific research. We also have spearheaded agency agreement documents that streamline the pipeline construction process. Our staff has the proven capability to meet aggressive filing deadlines while upholding the highest industry standards. We have the flexibility to respond to multiple project revisions. SEARCH’s successful performance on complex energy projects was a contributing factor to Florida Gas Transmission Company selecting SEARCH for four successive major inter- and intrastate pipeline expansion projects across the Southeast from 1995 to 2007.Land Development Industry

SEARCH provides developers, engineering firms, and mining companies with the services and documentation required for permitting through local, state, and federal agencies, or as part of the due diligence process. Private development projects often encounter a wide variety of cultural resources such as historical road segments, canals, work camps, homesteads, and historic cemeteries, as well as archaeological sites. SEARCH’s comprehensive approach ensures that cultural resources are identified early in the process, and our experienced staff is adept at making reasoned assessments.
SEARCH offers: • Established relationships with State and Federal agencies. • Excellent industry reputation for response and confidentiality. • Depth of staff to meet aggressive deadlines. • Added value to projects through cultural resource public interpretation. • Multiple Ph.D.s that are court-certified as expert witnesses.
As a result of SEARCH’s own design/build construction project for our Jonesville (Gainesville) Florida facility, and our renovation of a historic warehouse for our Orlando facility, we have an industry-unique, real-world perspective on permitting requirements, historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and demolition. SEARCH has successfully completed all varieties of land development projects, from complex developments covering thousands of acres to smaller, single building projects. Our high rate of repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals is testimony to our high level of service within the development industry.Regional ExpertiseFlorida
